About Bravo! Spanish Lessons

What is Bravo! Spanish?

Bravo! Spanish started from the idea of offering high quality and personalised lessons. The teachers, Ana and Elisa, met while working together at the University of Groningen in 2019. Bravo! Spanish is designed for adult learners from all over the world. We believe that learning a language is a unique process for every person. This is why we will not rush into results but we will adapt to your needs and aims in order to acquire a long lasting knowledge.

The methodology for our Spanish classes

Our methodology is based on interactive and dynamic lessons centered on communication skills. Of course, learning a language also means understanding the culture behind it. During our lessons we will bring you cultural and social aspects of your interest in the Spanish speaking world.

We see Bravo! Spanish as a community and we also seek to learn from our students’ cultures. Through our social media channels our students get the chance to keep in contact with the Spanish language and share their own experiences. In this way you will broaden your knowledge while interacting with other members of the community.

Who are we?

Bravo! Spanish was founded by Ana and Elisa out of a passion for teaching Spanish language and culture, with the intention of providing tailor-made Spanish classes for lovers of Spanish all over the world.

Ana

Ana was born and raised in Málaga, a sunny city in the south of Spain. She loves learning about other cultures and discovering new languages, that is why she decided to study English Studies. Ana is an English philologist, Spanish teacher and applied linguist with around three years of experience teaching Spanish.

After completing her master’s degree in teaching Spanish as a foreign language, Ana worked as a Spanish teacher in Ireland and Spain. She landed in the Netherlands in 2017 to study Applied Linguistics at the University of Groningen. After graduating she worked as a Lecturer of Spanish language and culture for a year and a half.

For Ana being a teacher is a lifestyle. She defines it as “a way of living and thinking”. For her the students are the best part of being a teacher and she loves to do fun activities during her lessons. In her free time she enjoys singing, dancing, reading and learning about other cultures.

Elisa

Elisa comes from the old and beautiful city of Granada, in the South of Spain. Interested in and curious about other cultures and societies since early age, Elisa became a linguist. She specialised in the acquisition and teaching of second and foreign languages, focusing later on Heritage Speakers and teaching Spanish.

As part of her studies she lived in the UK for a year and in the USA for two, where she also had her first university teaching experience in 2013. Then she continued teaching in Spain and finally she settled in The Netherlands in 2017. Here, besides this project, she is currently working in the University of Groningen as Spanish Lecturer since 2019.

Passionate about teaching, learning and interacting with her students, Elisa works hard to make her classes a relaxed, comfortable and motivating space where students can “expose” themselves and make all the needed mistakes with good doses of humor!
